Sebastian Möring
Sebastian Möring is Professor of Game Design at Macromedia University of Applied Sciences |Campus Berlin. His research focuses on the philosophy and aesthetics of computer games, in-game photography, green game studies, computer games in an educational context, games and literature, and game archiving. In 2021 he received the teaching award of the state of Brandenburg. Sebastian is co-speaker of AG Games, an SIG within the German Society for Media Studies (GfM) and he was the program co-chair of the annual conference of the Digital Games Research Association (DiGRA) in 2024. He is co-editor of the anthology Screen Images. In-Game Photography, Screenshot, Screencast (Kadmos, 2023) and co-author of the chapters ‘Climate-Game-Worlds: A Media-Aesthetic Look at the Depiction and Function of Climate in Computer Games’ (in Ecogames. Playful Perspectives on the Climate Crisis, Amsterdam University Press, 2024) and ‘Existential Ludology: Computer Games as Worlds’ (in The Routledge Handbook of Philosophy of Games, Routlegde, 2025).
