Finja Walsdorff is a German media scholar specializing in gaming culture and esports, with a particular focus on participation, inequality, and mental health in digital play cultures. She is affiliated with the University of Siegen and Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, where she researches and teaches in the field of game studies. Since 2020, she has served as spokesperson for the AG Games working group of the German Society for Media Studies (GfM), where she also co-organizes a PhD colloquium in game studies. She is co-editor of the open-access journal Spiel|Formen – Journal for Play & Game Studies and a council member of the Equal eSports Initiative, which advocates for diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities in esports.
