Astrid Ensslin
Astrid Ensslin is Professor of Digital Culture and Communication and founding director of DAS|LAB (Digital Area Studies Lab) at Universität Regensburg. Her major works include books on the Language of Gaming, Literary Gaming, Reading and Analyzing Digital Fiction, Unnatural, Transmedial and Postdigital Narratology, and the History and Lore of Electronic Literature. In recent projects she has shifted her focus onto digital folkloristics (DFG/AHRC “Project StoryMachine”), ludofolklore (Videogames as Folkworlds, forthcoming with Play Story Press), Languaging and Digital Culture (de Gruyter Handbook forthcoming), ludolinguistic research methods, as well as femtech and digital health studies. She is a founding member of the Postdigital Network, a Director of the Electronic Literature Organization, and Principal Editor of the Bloomsbury “Electronic Literature” book series.
