Jeffrey Wimmer
Jeffrey Wimmer is a professor of communication studies specialising in media reality at the University of Augsburg. Prior to this, he worked as a researcher at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, LMU Munich, FU Berlin, the University of Bremen, Leuphana Lüneburg and TU Ilmenau. In 2007, he completed his doctorate on the topic of (counter)publicity in the media society (published by Springer VS). From 2008 to 2014, he was spokesperson for the ‘Communication and Democracy’ section of the European Communication Research and Education Association, and from 2009 to 2015 for the ‘Sociology of Media Communication’ section of the German Society for Journalism and Communication Studies.
