Obviously the painting reminds of paintings done earlier without the help of the computer. It seems as if the new medium computer introduced a new technology and at the same time did not keep artists from referring to predecessing styles and formal rules. Michel Chion described the stages an artistic movement passes through when a new technology is introduced in one of his essays .
